Eduroam
At ELTE, the Eduroam (education roaming) network, which operates uniformly across higher education institutions worldwide, is available free of charge for all faculty members and active students. Eduroam WiFi access can be requested electronically through the IT Directorate's Client Portal. You can log in to the IIG Client Portal using your IIG ID and password.
If you do not yet have an IIG ID, first log in with your ELTE Neptun ID and password, then create your IIG ID. Ensure that on the Client Portal page, the "IIG" option is selected among the three circular icons before entering your Neptun ID. After this, click on "WiFi Request" and follow the instructions provided!
Classroom Exam Network
At ELTE GTK, "miniTest" assessments are accessible via a specific WiFi network in all classrooms of the Gólyavár, R, Q, and P buildings. All electronic assessments not conducted in the Exam Center must be taken on these networks.
In the classrooms, the WiFi networks correspond to the building names:
- G_exams
- R_exams
- Q_exams
- P_exams
You can log in to these networks using your Eduroam username and password. Important: Assessments are only accessible from the networks listed above, meaning you cannot access them via the Eduroam network or mobile data! Mobile data must be turned off, as some devices may automatically switch to mobile data during the test.
If your device does not allow you to click the "Connect" button after selecting the classroom WiFi and entering your credentials, you need to set the 'CA certification mode' or 'Authentication server certificate' option to 'Use system certificates' and enter 'elte.hu' in the 'Domain' field. On some devices, the 'Private WiFi address' and 'Limit IP tracking' functions must be turned off for these networks. Additionally, it is recommended to disable automatic connection to the exam network. If your device has additional installed security services (corporate restrictions, antivirus software), you also need to configure these settings separately. Important: All modern WiFi-enabled devices can connect to these networks, but configuring the device is the student’s responsibility. Each student can only connect one device to the classroom WiFi at a time.
After logging in, your device may display the message 'Connected, no internet,' but the Moodle app and the Moodle website will still be accessible from the network. Important: If using a browser, enter the URL moodle4.elte.hu directly, as the browser may otherwise try to search the internet, which is not available on this network.
To avoid potential individual or incorrect browser settings, using the Moodle app is recommended. The Moodle app can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of Moodle web pages. Important: On some devices, text-based questions may not display properly or the page may appear unresponsive when accessing Moodle through a web browser. If you experience this issue, switch to the Moodle app, where you can continue writing the test.
You can log in to Moodle using your Neptun creditentials.
