Erasmus Mobility: After Arrival
THE ENROLMENT WORKSHOP AND BEYOND
The Enrolment Workshop at the beginning of the semester provides incoming international students with information on various aspects of the Faculty including the premises, the infrastructure, the international team, and some students helping the team. The event aims to make international students feel at home straight away. To make the most of the workshop students are asked to arrive on time (details are provided by email a short time before the start of the semester) and to bring along the items in red.
1. Welcome speech and presentations: faculty information on important matters from administrative steps to topics related to your studies, e.g. course selection, attendance, assessment, etc. The presentation slides and its recording are made available to all students on the Moodle page dedicated to international students, including those who arrive in Budapest after the workshop.
2. Introduction to ELTE’s electronic systems and online platforms, Neptun code and password issues, IIG creation, etc. – Assistance will be given and WIFI will be provided. Bring along your laptop.
3. Administrative issues
a. Data check: passport / ID.
b. Issue of ELTE Certificate of Arrival. Bring along and submit your university’s Certificate of Arrival if your university requires this. Ask your coordinator. This (and possibly other home university documents) will be completed, signed, and stamped by ELTE FE in due course and eventually returned to you. If you do not have a copy on you at the enrolment workshop, this matter may also be arranged at the International Office during office hours at a later date.
c. Issue of Student Status Certificate. This will enable you to request a temporary Student Card, which in turn will give you access to numerous discounts from transportation tickets and passes to reduced entrance fees to various cultural institutions all over Hungary.
4. Meet your mentor: Erasmus Student Network (ESN) mentors and other ELTE FE students will be present to answer your questions and to help you become part of our community. ESN organises various events for incoming Erasmus and Guest Students during the orientation and enrolment week (https://www.elte.hu/en/orientation to be updated before the semester) and also during the semester from parties through film nights to sports events (https://www.esnelte.hu/events).
5. Campus tour organised by mentors. The tour includes a visit to the ELTE FE Exam Centre, the Video Library, and Quaestura (Egyetem Square 5.). The latter is the place to arrange most of your administrative issues during your studies at ELTE from correcting personal data in the database through obtaining a Neptun password to receiving your temporary student card.
Following your arrival in Budapest you will need to have your legal status in Hungary authorised. Depending on which part of the world you come from, choose the appropriate way to make your stay legal and legitimate:
