The National Higher Education Scholarship is designed to reward students’ previous exceptional academic and professional accomplishments and to encourage their outstanding future performance. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of a competitive application.
At the Faculty of Economics (GTK), only students who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for the scholarship: state-financed and self-financed full-time students who have been registered for at least two semesters and have earned minimum 55 credits, and their home faculty is the GTK.
The National Higher Education Scholarship is awarded for a full academic year, i.e. for 10 months, and the monthly amount of the scholarship is HUF 40,000.
The maximum number of students the Faculty of Economics can nominate for the award is 40 (30 bachelor’s and 10 master’s students).
Students can submit their applications via Neptun between 8:00 a.m. on 1 June and 8:00 a.m. on 2 July 2026. Go to Administration/Requests and choose the request called ”Nemzeti Felsőoktatási Ösztöndíj – 2026/27” / ”National Higher Education Scholarship – 2026/27”.
Only applicants whose weighted average reaches 4.00 (the Call itself contains the calculation method used to determine the weighted average) and who have completed all the courses they registered for in the spring semester of AY 2025/2026 by 4 July 2026 will be nominated for the Scholarship. In addition to one’s academic performance, scores will be given for language proficiency, professional, research, public, sports, social, cultural, and other activities (time rame: 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026). These scores together determine the ranking of the applicants.
If an applicant’s student status is terminated or suspended during the academic year of the scholarship, he/she will lose his/her eligibility for the remaining amount of the scholarship.
