ELTE GTK is proud to introduce its admirable student Hoang Nguyen Khanh An, who finished as runner up in the prestigious BGA Student of the Year Award 2024 competition.

Khanh An, who is a fourth-year Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holder on the International Business Economics programme offered by ELTE GTK, participated in the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards & Gala Dinner in London as one of the three finalists for the BGA Student of the Year Award, which recognises students who have shown exceptional career potential and who BGA believes can act as ambassadors for the global business school community. In the prestigious competition, Khanh An took 2nd place in her category.  

The Gala Dinner took place at PARK PLAZA LONDON RIVERBANK on 19 JANUARY 2024 and was attended by more than 200 business school leaders, as well as category finalists, judges, and members of the media. The awards were presented in over ten categories and honoured students, graduates, and business schools alike.

The value of Khanh An’s exceptional achievement is underlined by the reputation of the above organisations in the business community. AMBA (Association of MBAs) and BGA (Business Graduates Association) are internationally recognised accreditation bodies that evaluate and endorse high-quality business education programmes, ensuring standards of excellence for students and institutions worldwide.

The Faculty of Economics is a proud member of this esteemed network and has been contributing to the enhancement of business education in Hungary for several years. Reflecting on the journey leading up to this accomplishment, the event served as the culmination not only in Kahnh An’s personal and academic progress but also in GTK’s history.

Khanh An, who has an exceptional academic record, was nominated for the award for her commendable role as an advocate for matters concerning international students within the Faculty of Economics. Serving as the voice for all students, she plays a crucial role in fostering communication between the International Office and the student body. Moreover, Khanh An holds the position of ELTE International Student Ambassador, further exemplifying her commitment to promoting a supportive and inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, as a dedicated member of the student advisory committee, she makes significant contributions at university-level, working towards bridging the gap between international and local students. Khanh An's multifaceted involvement underscores her dedication to fostering a collaborative and harmonious academic community.

When asked about her experience, Khanh An described the thrilling and welcoming atmosphere of the ceremony and the wide-ranging networking opportunities the ceremony presented. She also expressed profound appreciation for the support received from her esteemed professors at the Faculty of Economics who nominated her for this distinguished award. She also wished to extend her gratitude to GTK for their unparalleled generosity in sponsoring the trip to London.

The Faculty of Economics is very proud of Khanh An’s outstanding achievement and wishes her success in her final semester at the faculty, as well as in her professional and personal life.
