New ACCA recognition
ELTE GTK’s Finance and Accounting BA programme has been accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the world's most prestigious professional body in the field of finance and accounting.

ACCA has more than 233,000 members and 536,000 students in 178 countries, including 1,351 members and students in Hungary. In addition to providing high quality training, the organisation is committed to supporting its members to become successful professionals in their fields.

ACCA members, and already students who are successfully completing their ACCA studies, have a significant competitive advantage in the job market worldwide, and statistics on a Hungarian HR website show that 85% of ACCA members earn above-average salaries. Also, passing certain ACCA exams is often a prerequisite for promotion in the finance and accounting departments of multinational companies (e.g. in large accounting firms).

The complete ACCA training consists of thirteen modules and their corresponding complex ACCA exams. From 1 January 2023, and as exclusive opportunity in Hungary, our Finance and Accounting BA students will be able to obtain exemption from five ACCA exams depending on the subjects they have completed on their programme at ELTE GTK. (See the details on the ACCA website in Hungarian.)

Those who continue their studies on our Hungarian-language Accounting Master’s programme can be exempted from two additional ACCA exams. (You can read about the 2018 Master’s ACCA accreditation in Hungarian here.)

We are proud to announce this ACCA accreditation as it is an important professional recognition for our Faculty and a significant competitive advantage for our students.
