First Student Talk on Jobs and Internships in Hungary
The Faculty of Economics (GTK) recently hosted its first student talk, a pilot event aimed at guiding international students on finding jobs and securing internships in Hungary.

The event was hosted by Hoang Nguyen Khanh An, an International Student Ambassador at ELTE Faculty of Economics. To kickstart the event, Dr Nóra Kelecsényi from the International Office shared comprehensive information about the Faculty's internship regulations and the specificities of the Hungarian job market. Her guidance provided the foundation for the subsequent engaging conversation with our guest speaker Isidora Knjeginjic.

Isidora, a fourth-year student on the Finance and Accounting program and a Proposal Specialist at BlackRock Hungary, was at the heart of the talk, generously sharing her knowledge and experiences. She graciously answered key questions, enlightening the audience on various aspects of the Hungarian job market and career development.

Drawing on her experience at renowned companies like GE and BlackRock, Isidora emphasized the importance of standing out in a highly competitive job market. From her viewpoint, networking is fundamental for professional growth. One of her strategies is building and leveraging a strong network, which has involved actively participating in industry events, engaging in online communities, and seeking mentorship.

Isidora's enthusiasm for her work was contagious. Her motivation stems from a genuine passion for her field and a drive to make a positive impact. On the other hand, balancing a thriving career with personal life is a challenge, but Isidora managed to maintain a healthy work-life balance by utilizing time management, setting boundaries, and prioritizing self-care.

ELTE Faculty of Economics' first student talk marked a momentous occasion, empowering international students with valuable insights and career strategies. Isidora's success story, combined with expert guidance on the faculty’s expectations, provided a holistic perspective on job-seeking, internships, and career development in Hungary. Armed with this information, GTK’s international students are now better equipped to embark on successful professional journeys and thrive in Hungary's dynamic job market.

The Faculty of Economics looks forward to organizing more such transformative events, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all its ambitious students.
