April Afternoon Walks in the Hilly Parts of the Capital
Easy (appr. 3-hour) afternoon-early evening walks in the hilly parts of the city. Admire the views of the city from some of the best vantage points and clear your head after your classes, midterms or work. The walks are easy, between 9-12 km. Beginners are particularly welcome to attend.

1. The lights of South Buda 

2. Buda Hills (Apáthy-cliff, Újlaky-hill, Hármashatár-hill, Árpád-lookout tower)

3. Eagle Walk from Eötvös Loránd Park to Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Dormitory

  • Date: Tuesday, 25 April
  • Meet: “Normafa, Látogatóközpont / Normafa Visitor Centre” stop (Eötvös Loránd Park) at 16:00
  • Take bus 21 from Széll Kálmán tér (Metro 2=red line, trams: 17, 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 59B, 61, buses: 5, 16A, 22, 22A, 39, 116, 128, 129, 139, 140, 222, etc.) 
  • We leave early to get to Sashegy Lookout Point before it closes at 18:00. Tickets will be paid for by the ELTE GTK Hiking Club! 
  • End stop: “Kőrösi Csoma Sándor” dorm from where you will easily find your way home.

Both students and their guests must register to take part in the walks.
By registering you acknowledge that data processing is subject to the data protection rules of Eötvös Loránd University and the Faculty of Economics.

Should the weather forecast be pessimistic, you will be informed by noon one day before the walk.  

Eating and drinking, practical tips:

  • The walks will be 3-3.5 hours long so bring along snacks and drinks accordingly. You will not need drinks in excess of 1 liter.
  • Have a plastic bag on you for your litter. 
  • Toilets are not available unless you are prepared to use the woods.
  • Comfortable, sturdy shoes are recommended.
