As part of its expansion strategy, the Faculty of Economics of Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem (ELTE GTK) is currently looking for new faculty members to join its community of academics committed to excellence in both teaching and research.

The Faculty of Economics (ELTE GTK) has become a defining centre of economics training in Hungary as it is the largest and most popular economics faculty with Master's and MBA programmes in the country. It is also among the top centres for academic excellence in the bachelor's training, with quickly in­creasing international visibility for the two English bachelor’s degrees: International Business Economics (IBE) and Finance and Accounting (FA). Further two bilingual bachelor’s, six Hungarian master’s (including an MBA), and doctoral programmes in the field of business and management complete the Faculty’s academic offer. Student numbers have recently topped seven thousand, including more than 150 international full-degree students and over 50 incoming mobility students per academic year from all over the world.

ELTE GTK is the first member of the Business Graduates Association (BGA) in Hungary, has earned a 4-Star Recognition by EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) and its Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) accreditations allow some students to be exempted from certain ACCA exams.

Currently open positions

All positions offered by ELTE GTK are full-time and open-ended with a 4-month probation period. Teaching and other activities take place on ELTE GTK’s campus in Central Budapest and involve tasks related to reviewing, planning, and delivering lectures and seminars, and various forms of assessment. Supervising theses and participating in talent management also form part of teachers’ duties. New colleagues are warmly welcome to engage in research and publication activities relevant to the faculty’s portfolio. Contributing to departmental/faculty administrative tasks is also an expectation. All activities are to be performed in English and the salary is commensurate with the position and the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Strong candidates have a university degree and a PhD (preferably in the field they are applying for) and distinguish themselves by having in-depth knowledge of and preferably some practical experience in their relevant business areas. They have an international mindset and are committed to developing their teaching and research skills to engage and inspire students, and to contribute to the faculty’s research portfolio. The applicant’s excellent English language proficiency provides a basis to further develop classroom communication and presentation skills, while precision, a proactive attitude, and an ability to prioritise and to work under pressure make excellent additions to a successful applicant’s character.
